my 450r has all the power i need when starting in first gear, BUT when i try a second gear start it just boggs way down and then winds back up ...so basically i sit there for a few seconds and then take off....would this be from in need of valve adjustment (which i'll be checking anyways tomorrow) or is it a jetting problem? i'm running 12/38 gearing maybe that's too much..i don't know but it's bugging me..lol...i get no bogging whatsoever when staring in first only when i try to launch in second...
thanks

Was it ever able to launch in 2nd?
Maybe you need to pin it a little more before you pop the clutch? Ride the clutch some more?
What are you launching on? Sand? Hardpack? Pavement?

i don't know i never tried to launch in 2nd...i rode with a rekluse the first part of the season and never had to launch in2nd. i had the throttle pinned it was on hardpack/semi-loose dirt.
i even tried to feather the clutch more and it did the same thing, you'd think with 12/38 gearing (stock is 14/38) i'd bew able to launch in 4th ...lol
