A question like this is absolutely pointless unless you specify what it is going to be used for ... MX, XC, trails, TT ????

BTW, this is a Honda biased site so the 450R will probably win.

My vote is the Honda  :macho Ride Red!!

Dear God, I'm going to cry if I see another "which 450 quad?" thread. :ermm:
Don't let other people choose your quad. Hop on them both and test ride each. Choose the one you feel most comfortable on.

R u a Yami fan or a Honda fan? I pick Yami cuz thats what I am a fan of.

I would ride both and see wich one you like.

I noticed the Yami corners better but the 450r has easier to use power.

not true. and even if it was, wouldn't that mean that Honda is just that much better than the competition.

I would go with the 450 r, Ive ridden both stock and the 450 r has alot better inital throttle response, the yfz cuts out bad

That means the YFZ wasn;t dialed in correctly. Seriously if a quad is dialed in correctly it shouldn't cut out.

Yeah i know, it was completely stock and another buddy has an 04' and it does the same thing, weve played with it alot and it still doesnt compare to the honda. IMO

the only thing I can say is there is a few more thing that u can do to a 450r to make it faster that the yfz!

I love the way that the 450r rides its smoother than the yfz and I know that with just a honda tune up kit agianist a yfz tune up kit the honda is the bad bike and keep the 660 and the700 rappies at home!

the yfz did not impress me to much personally.the 700 raptor ran better than the 450. i would get a 450r.remember reliablity.

Whatever, Im tired of these stupid ***** posts. Im not brand biased at all and have owned them all and I think the yfz is the better quad over all you just gotta tune it right.

Everyone can argue over and over of what the better bike is. I had this conversation today at the track. Its the rider, and their preferences. I've owned kawis, hondas, suzukis, and yamahas. In their class i think its more the rider. I get my *** whooped by guys on cannondales and people say they are POS so you tell me. I personally ride a yfz and it feels good to me but i've ridden it and am used to it, i have not rode the honda, so i can't comment on it. All i'm saying is if you are a good rider, you will be fast on any brand machine thats properly set up. Get some seat time, see what feels good, don't just jump because people say its fast or its a good bike. (they all have problems i don't care what any body says i've never rode and indestructable mechanical failureless quad) just my $.02

Obviously when you were playing with it you didn't know what you were doing. It's possible and every easy to eliminate the famous cut out of the FCR carb. I've heard of changing the leak jet to a different size helps and also the squirt duration. The only time my YFZ stumbles is if it's just sitting there idling and I jab the throttle. If I'm riding it and it's not at extreme low RPM's and I jab the throttle it has no problem lifting the front end up with no hesitation. The reason why mine still has the hesitation is because I have not messed with the leak jet or the squirt duration, I plan on doing it someday but right now I don't have a problem with it, as I'm never racing somebody sitting in neutral.

Whoever says this site is not Honda biased hasn't seen one of these threads before and obviously hasn't been here long enough. I remember when the site was first starting out.

My opinion is usually always non-biased and I always say ride all the 450's and see which one suits you best. It also comes down to what you will be using it for, but that also leads to which one is more comfortable for you. The 450R is an awesome machine but I just felt the YFZ was suited better for me, that's why I bought it. Not because Yamaha is so much better than Honda or vice versa. I have not ridden the LTR or even seen one in person so I cannot make any comments on that. Ride both and you'll make the right decision then, no one can tell you which one is right for you, even if "Ride Red" sounds catchy :D .

what MX_523 said, pick your own dang quad. The Honda is 1000 cheaper, but you will have to spend that much on the suspencion and power up to get it to the YFZ. It will be a bit faster and a little more stable than the Yami if you put on the HRC and a good aftermarket suspension. Now please, people, STOP ASKING "wich quad should I get!" Just do your reserch and ride test ride all the diferrent companies, then get the one you liked the most. END OF STORY.
