I had to buy a new cylinder and after i break it in with gn4 10w30 I would like to buy some thicker/better oil. What is the best weight and oil type to buy and when I switch to the new oil do I have to change it a fewtimes to get all the old out? Synthetic oils are all good accept on break in right?

yes, dont use synthetic on break in

after break in i would switch to amsoil full synthetic 20w-50. thats what i run.....make sure you get the motorcycle one so that its compatible with a wet clutch

any clue on how much it will drop engine temp. cause I already have larger oil res. and air scopps and want it to run just a tad bit cooler. Amsoil was good in my blaster a year ago what about royal purple ppl like that chit on here.

Personally, I run GN-4/20w-50 in the summer and 10w-40 the remainder of the year.

on a trx 400 there isnt a bigger one , you might find something else you could use , but as far as i know - nobody makes bigger oil coolers for this bike .

It is a bit funny when you look at the size of the standard one found on the bike , eh ? ? odd .

no way, I have seen companys that make oversized oil cooler kits.

ENGINE/TRANSMISSION
I like to run a lead additive to help the engine run cooler along with half race gas and half super unleaded.
I would like to see a bigger oil-cooler on the machine to help the machine run a little cooler. I haven’t seen anyone develop one yet, and I haven’t tackled it yet either.

ya, I switched over to the amsoil 0w-40 and its running better then it was when I was running the 10w, the shifting and everything just feels so much smoother than it was. I will never use anything else but this ever again!!!
