looks good... what kind of riding do you do and will it hurt to ride without an airbox if you ride mx?

You should spend $10 on a decent crankcase breather to install on the end of the crankcase breather tube... Just my .02, but otherwise thats a nice quad!! ~JAY

Me likes it,

Does getting rid of the airbox really equate to better performance? I run no lid and it seems like it is just as good and provides a little more protection. I suppose your set-up does mimick an air induction though.

Wouldnt hitting a big puddle or riding in the rain or mud get that thing soaked???

:ermm:

Uh yeah there is absolutely no way in he11 that you are not getting dirt into your crankcase. That breather tube needs to be squashed into a foam filter, you have it resting against a K&N. Not going to work, spend the $7 or whatever it is and get a filter for it.

you all could relax, i do have the k&n breather filter, just not on due to cleaning.

you could run this in mx racing. it unrestricts your airflow to your carb.

i think it is worth the money.

it makes that chirrping sound all the time now!!! i love it

Ill stick to an open airbox.Puddles will be your worst enemy.I run an open airbox and an outerwear and suck up water every now and then!!!!!!!!!But a nice set up for the dunes or a dry MX track!!But i doubt it flows any better?????

nice 450r man.
the air filter set up looks cool, but iwould just change the oil,and clean the air filter every good day of riding.o and try to stay out of the water

the case vent blows air out not in,there's no need for a filter on that.......a filter on that could cause more damage than good if the air is not flowing out fast enough......thats why the hrc kit comes with a bigger breather T

if A filter was needed i think honda would have had that in there hrc kit.

I disagree, any open hose is going to get dust in it ,and its a vent, while there is some positive pressure from heat it doesnt "blow" air out per say

It is recommended that you run a small filter of some type on the end of that hose. If not you CAN get dust and water into the motor.
