04 YFZ450, it ran fine when I parked it 2 weeks ago, I pulled it out on Sat and it started fine and i warmed it up and went about 100 yards and it started to backfire and break-up. I thought it might be water in the tank so i drained it and filled it up with new gas, It does not sound like it is running or starving for gas.

It will sit and idle fine and i can run it in the 1-3 gears at a low rpm, but when i get after it the motor backfires. If i park it for a few hours I can go for another 100 yards.

I also have gas in the bowl so I do not think it is in the carb
The gas that i got out of the carb had no water or specs of dirt.
The bike has only been sitting for two weeks

Any help would be great

sounds like you forgot to turn off the choke.

That or you may need to clean your carb.

I had the choke off and i Know it is not water in the tank, I know I'm getting gas, I also drained the gas out of the carb and then ran it again I am pretty sure I'm getting gas

I talked to someone at the dealer and he said it is the coil, I wanted to see if anyone else had a coil go bad on a yfz. $82 for a coil and if it doesnt fix it then I have a spair, so if anyone has had this happen let me know

I dont think its with the carb because it doesnt sound like it is starving for fuel.

air filter clean???
spark plug good???
spark plug cap on tight???
fuel restricted from fuel tank???

you need to determine whether the spark is good first.
