What is the best way to clean the OEM airfilter for the 450r.. My friend used gas on mine and it seemed to work REALLY good but will it eat anything up? What is the BEST way to get the dirt out. thanks

It's best to use foam filter cleaner, but I have heard of people using gas no problems. With gas prices as high as they are, it's probably wiser to go buy the cleaner:ermm:

I have a new product that will be available in about 2 weeks called Quad Wash that does an excellent jub of cleaning your air filter and your whole quad. It will be available for $6.99 for a 32oz spray bottle. Just ask Colby from C&D Racing.

DON't USE GAS!!!!! It will eat the foam. You might not be able to tell but it will.

Use warm water and dish soap with degreaser.

Don't forget to re-grease it ether. I like Klotz foam filter lube.

Quad Wash Should be available in about 3 weeks

And for those of you that use the Simple Green this works as well or better in all tests that I have done.

Gas eats the glue that holds the filter together.

No way, I was at a dealer the other day and was looking for the spray cleaner and was suprised at the fact, they didn't have any.
The saleman came over and I asked why they only had the spray on oils and no cleaner. He told me that he never used the cleaner, and told me to use dawn dish soap, put it on the filter and work it in and then rinse it. I couldn't believe how great it worked, the only thing is it takes more effort, but dawn is alot cheaper.
