Coil problem?

I have an 04 yfz, it ran fine when i put in the barn 2 weeks ago. It stated fine on sat. but i went about 100 yards and the atv started to backfire and the motor started to break up. I pulled the fuel line off the carb and i was getting gas to the carb and the carb had gas in the bowl. I also let it sit for a few hours and the thing will run fine for a 100 -200 yards and then the motor will start to break up. if i shift down to second gear and keep the rpms down the motor runs fine. any help would be great.

Water in the gas.

That was the first thing i checked, and i actually drained the tank dry and got new gas.

Did you drain the float bowl? If not there could still be water going through the carb. If there's water in the bowl it will idle just fine but when you get on it it sucks from the main jet which is deeper in the bowl and it would suck the water then. Water is heavier than gas so it sits on the bottom of the bowl.

I DRAINED THE GAS TWICE FROM THE BOWL ( AFTER I PUT THE NEW GAS IN FROM A NEW CAN). I PUT IT IN A CLEAR CUP A LET IT SIT OVER NIGHT AND THERE WAS NO WATER IN THE CUP AT THE BOTTOM.

Is boot between the carb head is good? Had one crack on me and kind of had the same problem.
