my uncle and i made this up yesterday and then put the finishing touches on this morning. a bed extender that cost me only 30 bucks instead of the $250 for a new one. its not very heavy either, i can just use 1 arm to pick it up and put it on my truck. we made all of the hooks and handle for it and welded everything. i like it alot and it works perfect for me when i haul my bike because my cab is a single. only thing i have to do is hit it with some paint.

it wont be on all the time, only for riding. its just 2 bolts on each side and shes off. what do u guys think?

there are 2 hooks on each inside corner for straping stuff down

2 hooks on the front of each side piece also

how it mounts, just 2 bolts on each side that mounts to the body. a nut is welded on the back so its real easy. you cant see any of it when the tail gate is up and cover on. its actually very sturdy when mounted, doesnt move at all.

Looks pretty cool actually, nicely done. Does it fold up with your tailgate?

Nevermind, that bolt wont allow it. haha

Looks a lot better than some of the ones you can buy, and if you saved money then you really got a good deal on it.

Looks good...Off topic but did you know when people leave their tailgates down thinking that there saving gas, it actully uses more gas then when the tailgate is up. Saw it on mythbusters lol

Yeah I saw that to, but hes doing it to have more room for things. He has a regular cab.

thats cool, you should try to make it more like quick relase instead of having a bolt you should try to make some sort of pin or clip. just my opinion. but it looks sweet good job!

BTW-sweet truck:D

aso if you take you gate out, your bed has a tendency to warp bc theres nothing keeping the sides parallel... ive seen it a couple of times.

yes, but its only about 2 or 3 minutes to take it off. i think im going to buy some pins with a cotter pin on the end for it instead of using 4 bolts, much easier and quicker.

You guys should throw together 10 of them and list them on eBay.
