07plastic fitment on 05...

what is it that I will need to install plastic from a 07 onto my 05? I waant to put white plastic on mine real bad! I heard something like the tank, shroud under the tank and thats it. I that correct?

They should just bolt up fine if they haven't changed any mounting locations. But, you will have to cut a hole for the kicker. Or get plastics from an '07 kicker, but they only come in red:ermm:

Maier makes white plastic designed for the 04-05. Maybe that would just be too simple?

I have had two sets of Maier on my 450. I liked the finish and the look, but I hated the way they were mounted. That's why I'm going to back to factory black:)

Ya I had a set of majier and then sold them once I saw how cheap they were, but they cost a fortune!

i have a feeling there's going to be a butt load of white 04,05,06's running around next season.

I plan on doing the same to my 05. White rules.

I can't stand the white ones. They look like the yfz, raptor, banshee, and LTR450. White plastic looks like crap after a while. I'm more of a fan of the black plastic with flames but woundn't putting out the money needed to change my red 04. I'd rather spend that on hop up stuff.


I'd rather beat u biznitches on my "old" 04 sportin "old" plastic. :devil: hahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha b!tchez:rolleyes:

Quite the opposite of my observations.
Black plastic looks sweet as heck when it's new, and for about the first 3 rides.. ;) You can keep it polished up with Mop & Glow, but black shows every little imperfection.

White on the other hand only needs a little washdown using a SoS pad after the race and doesn't show knicks, etc. hardly at all.

I bought my red 04 when the black 05's were on the showroom also. I still went with the red. My old warrior is black and red, scratches every which way. I knew better this time. Plus the 04's were like 600 bucks cheaper, can't beat that.

the ole s.o.s. pad kept my old 250r plastic looking good for years!!!!

from what ive heard, the stock 07 fenders will set you back more than the ,maier because they all have to come from japan.

yup xsr your machine is what sold me on white. I dont mind the warning labels though. I just hate all that heavy *** bracketry that goes with the aftermarkets.

Hmm .. Brad I think I used all the stock brackets to be honest. The fitment of mine was great, and I've had no problems. I actually just got a second set of Blue maiers to try out.

I think I actually found someone that swaps parts more than me:p In the past 2 years, I have had 4 sets of a-arms, 4 sets of plastic, 2 sets of shocks, and 2 frames:devil:

no I mean as far as the extra branckets that they throw in. The ones that attach the fron scoops to the fenders. the brackets that go from the plastic to the factory plastic as so on. I do like lakewood, I thihnk that is them. that has the rac cut one piece front set up!

My favorite color scheme on the R so far would have to be the black plastic with red hood, for the 04-05 and possibly 06-07.

rears are on back order from serive honda, but it shows they make the white in kick start and in electric! But I ordered up my fronts for now since they were available, I will let every one know what will be needed;)

All you need is the metal brackets off your old front fenders. Not sure on rears yet. I ordered them 2 weeks ago for a kicker and still on back order. The fronts even come with 07 graphics.

The front bolt up perfect. The rears have a different way of mounting under the gas tank. I made it work without anything. I will probally find out what the new rear tank holder is like before I purchase it.
