With tempratures soaring into the 90's, the thought of packing up and riding just was not in our game plan. Dan Harris, the head honcho at Breezewood Proving Grounds (http://www.breezewoodprovinggrounds.com) called to see where we were, because usually this is our weekend home!

With our work around the house completed, we decided to head up and just spectate for the evening. This was not to Cody's or Ryan's liking, but honestly, me and mom needed a break:p

As we left our home, 45 minutes from BPG, the temperature was hitting the 93 mark, but once we crossed the mountain, mid 80 degree weather was on tap:p My luck, and boy did the kids let me hear about it the rest of the trip.

Arriving at BPG, I found a few riders ripping it up as most let the weather keep them from one great day of riding!

The few riders that remained so late in the day were having a blast, and I quickly set up my gear to get some pictures for everyone.

The new Suzuki LTR has been gaining popularity and I must say, it has been impressing me each time I see one in action.

I may try and pick one up, maybe it is whats needed to get me back on a seat:p

My brother and family friend Shawn worked until 4:30 am getting a new engine in Shawns 450r. By the time I arrived trackside, they had put in a full day of riding and wrenching and were beat. Sorry I didnt get there earlier guys to get some pictures for you.

I know I will get this riders last name wrong, but its Gillotile (I know thats not right:p ) Damn nice guy, and he decided spending the weekend at BPG was the ticket for himself and his family.

It really helps when the track is not crowded, it allows me the time I need for teh dust to settle for crisp clear shots

Pappy

Roost shots are cool, especially when you can see every rock:D

Nice pictures Pappy. Is BPG dirtbike friendly?

Pappy
07-15-2006, 09:33 PM
The sun decided enough was enough and sunset lighting was history. That did not stop the riders or me from doing what we do.

All BPG's tracks have great berms for the bikes!

With less light, I got a bit creative and as the rider tapped his rear brakes i was able to catch it. Front wheels still in motion, back wheels stopped to bring her in on the downside.

That is about it, had a great evening and enjoyed the slower pace for one night atleast. Hoping to see more folks there tomorrow!

As anyone who has stayed the night at the track knows, Dan builds a nice fire outside the dining hall and everyone sits around shooting the breeze for hours. The stories of the days riding, close calls and the boasting for those that finally cleared the jump of thier life unfold under the night sky.

Dan has been very impressed at the turnout at his facility from ATVrider.com members, and we are happy to support a track owner who loves quads and strives for a family atmosphere.

I had met the feller on the YFZ before, he was yelling at the people at TMX 2 years ago because they were dicking around getting the race started:D

He got very lucky, he landed wrong and almost nailed the tree's, but he was tossed and the quad jumped the berm and went for a ride ending up wedged in that pile of debis. He took a break and was back out there in short order.

Cody was wanting to ride, so we threw his 300 in the truck.

Pappy
07-16-2006, 07:09 PM
The only smart rider I saw all day. He did not hit the track, but kept hitting a large mudpuddle to keep cooled off:p

I was shown how to adjust your handle bars by casing a double. Fine technique, no wrenches needed or nuttin!

Pappy

We called it a day after that jump, Cody wrenched his knee on the kicker before the table, and frankly said he didnt remember hitting the jump...that was a clue for those that dont have one:p The heat had gotton to him.

An hour later, he was fine, still a short dorky white kid with no ball skills, but ready for more quad riding thats for sure:D

Pappy
07-16-2006, 07:42 PM
Ryan didnt clean his room so he had to stay home today:( He was happy to whip Codys rear end in a game of ball, then he geared up and they raced pitbikes till dark:p

Can someone send me some of thier energy!

See ya'll in 2 weeks back at BPG!

yea i stopped ridin around 2:15 and left by 2:30, i was one of maybe 2-3 quads (while i was there) that was clearin that table. i kinda scared everyoen that was watchin a few times caus ei was really whippin the thing, over jumped it a few time too, Dan could make that another 10-15 ft and it would be perfect, maybe make the take off alittle closer to the turn and just keep the landing cause when i would over jump it i would almost blow the turn goin to the double, during the 4ht i was just puttsing around getting back to the swing of things, i'v gotten my "grove" back if u know what i mean
