there is an xr650, but those things are tanks, definetly get the 450...

If it's a lot of desert riding out in the west, i'd get the XR650.

Theres a reason the XR is the Baja Champion.

If you go to tracks, or do little wide open desert riding, then the Yamaha

The 450 is quicker and has a nasty midrange hit. The 650 is heavy but it pulls like a tractor from low rpm's all the way up.
