I am picking up a set of stock 250r a-arms to throw on my 400ex. They should be a direct bolt on right? Shock mounts and everything the same? I am asking because I am about to mod the 450r shocks to fit my 400ex a-arms and I want to make sure they will fit the 250r a-arms ok.

Yes they widen and lower it. Check out beefy-1's 400ex.

Also check any aftermarket a-arms...they will list them for 400ex/250r's. They should fit.

How much do they widen it?

According to beefy about 2'' on each side. Check out page 4 of the picture thread. It made it noticably wider and lower.

250R a-arms DO NOT add 2" to each side, beefy 400ex looks so wide because he has his front rims flipped around ( notice the ridiculous deep dish to the outside ) :huh

You are right. I wonder if they widen a 400ex at all now. Glad you caught that.

Correct, the stock R arms (250R) wont add any benefit over the stock 400ex arms.

And becareful when buying used aftermarket 250R a arms for use on a 400ex, some of the bushings will not allow you to trim enough of the arm to fit the 400ex mount!

Thanks for the warning. I will be saving up for a set of 400ex +2's now.
