The Pinelands Preservation Alliance is currently working on a grass roots campaign directed at creating ordinances in communities so that they can efectivly ban Off-Highway riding of all types and that includes Enduro’s and Hare Scrambles. What they are proposing is for local TREE HUGGERS to create ordinances back in their communities that make it extremely difficult or impossible for a volunteer group like an ECEA club to get the required permits to put on an event. They have a draft ordnance already written, where you just put in the name of your town in all the blank spots. They’re even doing a series of meetings throughout the pinelands region where they will tell you how easy it is to do and a step-by-step process for you to make it successful.

Reminder: 7/15/2006 1PM at Buena Vista Town Hall, 890 Harding Highway, Buena, NJ (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=890+Harding+Highway,+Buena,+NJ&ie=UTF8&ll=39.50712,-74.90912&spn=0.016622,0.041199&t=h&om=1)

A couple of guys from our side were present at the last Pinelands Preservation Alliance meeting reporting that a number of off-roaders were present. They successfully discredited much of the rhetoric, fustrating the opposition. The eco-nuts are expected to respond with more effort at this weekend's meeting, so let's keep the wave of success going and make sure we have enough people there to beat them down in round 2!

It was stated that the ATV riding parks in Extreme Habitat and Monroe Twp are still fully "on the table". If you recall, Buena is home to Fred Akers, the man spearheading the campaign against ATV riding parks in NJ. We need to discredit this anti-freedom extremist and make it known that his way of thinking is isolated to him and his disciples.

Please come down to show your support and network with other NJ riders!
