i am currently looking to buy a new quad. I am getting rid of my z400, and i love the new ltr, but i dont ride mx, and 75% of the riding i do is on rocky trails in the desert, or at the dunes. the other bike i'm looking at is, and dont laught, a polaris predator TLD. yah they are heavy, but ive heard that once you open em up they really rip. what would you guys do?

I say the Predator is better for your riding type, the LTR is basicly designed for MX.

i would look into the other 450's or even a raptor 700. the ltr is great for the track and not much else.

I thing you should go with the raptor 700 instead of the predator its a little lighter then the predator it should in the trails plus the EFI will keep things smooth in power.

i would say read all the quad magazines that are out. i have a trx250r and just got the new ltr and i love them both but i would recommend the ltr dunes are wide open so no question it will perform there get 20 in paddles and a 13t front sprocket and you are good to go. i have ridden mine in trails and it was nowhere near what i thought it would be. it was great except a little low with the stock 18'' tires on the back but if you move up to 20'' tires and that 13t i mentioned before you will be good to go. just my opinion though.
