new yfz purchase questions

im buying a 2004 yfz450 from a friend. he hasnt rode it in over 1 year and 1/2, its just been sitting in his garage. it has less then 30 hours on it all together. before riding it should i do anything to the machine? i was thinking new regulator, stator, decom plug, and oil and filters - or should i hold off on the regulator and stator until i have problems (if i have problems)? also, regulator and stator, is this something i could install myself? or should i bring it to a dealer?

I dont think you need to worry about the electrical stuff yet. Id just drain all the gas and oil thats in it, clean out the carb and fuel hoses, and put fresh oil and gas in it.
