ok i am buying a 05 yfz limited edition with long travel and all that but it doesn't got any motor work besides air filter and pipe and rejetted. i'm gana be racing motocross and i want to know what i should do first? i was thinking hat cams, please tell me wat you would do first.

I don't own a YFZ but my friend had a 450r all stock and he won races with it. I wouldn't even spend the money. I would just pratice. Just my .02

well i got a z400 that is completely race ready and i've won 13 out of 16 races on it, and i'm getting a yfz so i can move up to intermediate or maybe pro i don't know for sure yet. but i race the usra series in utah

Exactly what I was thinking!
Moreover if you have a pipe already do not do anything to the engine, invest in suspension and you will get way faster than if you invest in the motor!!!!!!

i would do a couple races with it and see what you think could be improved and go from there.

you could retard the exhaust cam... IMO you do not need after market cams.

port and polish is always good for some ponies..and a high compression piston..i dont know of too many pros, that do more than that... maybe change the CDI

the suspension is really what you need, and since the quad is already equipped with it, just work on your skills. you should be fine!

do the cam mod and you will be fine, the YFZ has plentyy of power. if you still want more i would do a high compression piston, good luck.
