400ex frame..

I posted about a week ago to get ym exhaust done but it came in alot better shape than i expected so it doesnt need to be done. My frame on the other hand is in desperate need of some powdercoating. I want it done in a blue color like this:

I saw it on this forum and the guy said it was loli pop blue. I was wondering if you have that color or is it the same as trans blue and how much would it cost for just the frame, no subframe. Thanks

prismatic makes lollipop blue, but i find it is too purplish for my liking (most of my customers do to)

i shoot a ton of transclucent blue. for just the frame it would be $135

is the pic u posted trans blue? If so ill jsut go with that. I thought trans blue was darker than that. What is your address so i can send it as soon as im done welding.

yeah. im fine with however trans blue is usualy done. How does packing usualy work. just a cardbord box? or something more heavyduty?

To ship it here its gravy. Shrink wrapping only is fine! You can take a box and just cut out a panel that goes around the length of the quad and thats it, it does not have to be fully boxed to send it.

alright ...im going to try and send it out tommorrow or monday. Ive decided to go with Orange instead of blue. I like mirror orange so i think ill go with that but if you have pics of any other kinds of orange that would be cool and maybe a close up of mirror orange with gold flake clear if possible, Thanks

A solid orange with a clearcoat would be the same as a translucent color.

I stopped using mirror orange, but use a orange that is a bit better IMO. It is a brighter orange and coats better.

yeah i guess ill go with the clear coat. I assume its not only good for shine but for durability too? ...and have any pics of the new orange?

450robots quad was done in this orange. It was supposed to mirror orange, but there was an issue with a noticable color shift between 2 batches. I was sent a different orange and prefer it over the mirror:p

the clear will help with durability, but it really does alot for depth and gloss, especially on orange, yellow and greens.

alright....I cant find a pic of the guys orange frame because im aparently not inteligent enough to operate the search tool:rolleyes: ....haha. If at somepoint you could shoot me some pics I'd realy appreciate it just incase its not summin i like, although if its just like mirror im sure i will. Another question i have is, is the golg flake like a metalic with small metalic peices or are the bigger flake type things

its a relatively small flake, any bigger and they would not lay out smooth when the powder flows out. its almost invisable until the sun hits it, then it shows itself.

you can see the difference in the picture with his quad,although the arms deffinatley had a problem becuase to me they didnt even look all that orange when i shot them. the next batch i ordered in was more orange, or atleast what i figure an orange should look like. the color is still a bit off becuase the camera wants to exagerate the orange into more of a red.

Is gold flake ontop of orange the same as orange with clear?

ok..The frame is going out Wed. since thats the soonest day I go neer a UPS place. I have another question about the frame too. If it gets to you and you find cracks , how much does it cost to get welded. I have no idea it there are any or which specific welds on the frame are troublesome.

hey pappy, If i get a silencer of a forumer is it cool to just have them send it to you if i want to get it coated...Im wanna know how much its going to cost to get a Pro Circuit T4 pc'd candy trans blue, and have it re packed because im almost sure its going to need it.

Yes, people send parts direct from sellers almost daily.

If the silencer is already coated, it would be $45, if its bare then $30

new packing material runs around $25

you should have your frame on tuesday. i am not sure why but they delayed delivery. UPS and DHL have been saying "remote" delivery areas are an extra day or two but I see no ryhme or reason to what they consider remote...especially east of the mississippi

got a quick question...i got my quad together and the steering stem moves up and down like theres something missing..its all right but im wondering if something isnt in right or im missing something other than that bearing

when you took apart the quad, there should have been a small brass bushing that goes in the bottom bearing. if you have up and down slop i would suspect that you did not reinstall it. if you can not locate it i will check as i probably have a few here from parted quads

I am thinking of buying a quad, and have found some that need some paint. I was wondering how much it cost to get everythign powder coated. Like frame, axle, rear axle hub, bumper, and any other little bracket that may be found on a 400ex. Thanks alot!
