HMF or Yoshimura

Guys i am so torn between which pipe to get.

I am sure both are pretty good but tell me which one is the best bang for the buck.

I am talking about full-system exhaust also.

yoshi is cheaper i have a hmf on my 300 and yoshi on my 400 yoshi has a deeper sound hmf is all around louder i would suggest the yoshi tho

for a full system i would definetly get the yoshi, it is cheaper and it sounds better imo

i would get the HMF. i am very happy with mine it gives me alot of power and it sounds great.

I'm totally happy with my Yoshi. It sounds and looks great, and was a snap to install. I'm sure you'd be happy with either, but I believe dollar for dollar, you'll get more bang for your buck with the Yosh.

both are great pipes and you would be happy with either system. they offer around the same performance and price etc. just on what u prefer. heres a pic of my yosh

Its pretty much if a loud or quiet option. They both have great power, just do you like loud or quiet.

idk everyone says yoshimura is quiet and its not. i think alot of people are running them the way they came from yoshimura. yosh puts a quiet core insert in them when u get it. i took mine out as soon as i got it. its as loud as im sure a hmf is. its a 2" core just like hmf. mines real deep and loud. some of u people check ur yosh's, take the end cap off with a allen key and take that quiet core out if its in there and you dont know it lol then ull be loud

Is it really as loud as HMF, I heard one while i was riding and I couldnt hear it over my stock pipe with baffle out.

i dont know anyone with a 400ex with a hmf but id say this yoshi is pretty loud. i heard a rs-3 on a ktm dirt bike and it blew my ear drum lol. id say its pretty close to as loud as the hmf but not louder but yea its pretty loud not as quiet as everyone say. and my pipe isnt even broke in yet, they are always quieter new

Today I just put my HMF slipon on and when my dad was reving that thing high, it was screaming. Echoing off the hills, it was crazy loud (i love it :devil: )

I pulled my quiet core out, and the Yosh is ridiculously loud. I can't imagine the HMF being any louder, or for that matter, even wanting your bike to be that loud!

yeah, like with mine, it sounds very much the same, just alittle diff tone in the low revs and idol, but when you get farther on the throttle, it just kinda starts to scream :P

bear -- I pulled mine out a few weeks ago after hearing someone say something about it. It may have been you, i don't remember. I'm a little confused though -- I pulled the long "falic" insert out, that I'm assuming was the spark arrestor, and it was crazy loud. Is there some other "baffle" thing deeper in the pipe I should pull out, and then put the spark arrestor back in ?

it will be right there is is like a little tube. u took out the right thing.

Ehh, I want HMF, but I want yoshi, I want HMF becuase lots of people say its got great power and its loud, i dont want yoshi becuase i dont think its as loud as HMF.

id say yoshi is as loud as a hmf its louder than my big bear with a hmf utility but thats not a hmf on a 400ex. id say its really close on loudness. as for u buster yes u pulled the right thing out. sounds good odnt it? hehe
