20 Grand is a big understatement. a set of 28" wheels and tires go for about 30 grand. Who knows what 30's go for.

that must be a pain in the rear to mount those tires, i had a hard enough of a time mounting my 50 series i would not want to have to change those tires thats for sure, must be easy to seat the bead though.

the 450's / 250 pinger class will always be the most favored,watched,liked etc etc.. class and will always be. theres just so many other classes and types of racing that they use other quads than 450's. If i found a raptor with the excact modifications as you with an equal rider as you, will you still tell me its for looks.

so ur telliong me that a long travel, 680cc,stage 2 hot cam, fox float,piped raptor will do nothing but be good for show. theyr great jumpers, excellent duners (top speed) and with small mods such as cams,port/polsh,piped drop/add a tooth, a-arms axle theyre will be a great quad to race mx (if they had a class more dialed for them.)

WHat do u mean by "a class more dialed for them" Raptors sit so high that u have to steer w/ the rear wheels rather than taking a high berm and flyin thru it while keeping your quad in perfect line. I ride my buddies 700 raptor, they have some grunt behind them but i think u would have to put a lowering kit and some hella wide aarms for good stability in the woods.

So if he put all the same mods you have on your old slow outdated 400ex on a raptor, it would be for looks? So is your 400 for looks?

Like the guy above said, it's all about preference. If you want big rims, you can have big rims. A lot of motorsport trends look stupid, but that doesn't mean people aren't going to do it. I think muscle cars with big fat wide tires and little rims looks stupid, but every time I see one at a show I tell the guy it's a nice car anyway.

I don't care what you say, a 400EX with the same mods as a Raptor will own that same Raptor on most MX tracks. Not to mention XC, where the Raptor will almost always get smoked.:D
