how would a stock 250r compare to a yfz/450r/ltr in a drag race, my friend says a stock 250r is SLOW.

any of the 450s will kill it

It shouldnt be completely destroyed, not going to win though. The 250s need some upgrades to keep up.

I think in stock form the 400's should be 1 notch up. but remeber we are comparing quads that were made 20 years apart. I still think ill take a worked 330R or 350r over any quad and never look back

Yup, in my opinion, you cant get any better that the 250r geometry. I could care less that its 18 or 20 years old. You can have a semi-built 250r for the same as a new (stock) 450. I ride both and the way the 250 sits is just perfect.

stock for stock? are we talking stock exhaust and everything?

as far as stock for stock engine wise, assuming a pipe and filter for all of them...
the 250r will smoke any of the 400s...
however, a piped 250r is also slower than any of the piped 450s... obviously the the bike and year have a difference...

ps... with my 265 there are very few 450s that beat me. they have to have some work done to be able to...

there is some rider advantage on my part 95% of the time, but obviously it varies between whoever i race...

that being said, ive beaten piped 450s and piped raptors on an 03 raptor with a K&N, big gun rev limiter, 12 tooth sprocket, and baffle removed... which obviously was against inferior riders...

the 250r, and two strokes in general, respond very well to mods, and it just takes a bit of modding to get a 250r to be about equal to a 450
