When i bought my R about 6 months ago, it had a high octane i beilieve 110, it was blue watever it was. Ive gotten it back together and ive started it a few times on that same gas. I figured it was a little old so i got some more. There is a shell station near my hous that sells 100 octane race gas so i got that and the thing wouldnt start. i drained it put the old gas back in it and it started:huh

anyone know what this could be??

also right after it hits the power band it bogs down any gusses on this??

How is your jetting?

This might be a long shot, but I typically find that old gas makes my Rs run rich, as compared to fresh gas on the same jetting and weather. Your newer gas might be making you too lean to get it fired up.

Also, you are mentioning a bog. Bogging is a normal symptom of a lean condition.

Start by totally disassembling your carb and cleaning everything, including the passages and jets.
