cut my fenders on my 250ex

i did it yesterday and i think it looks ten times better but i didnt just take a little off i took the whole things off i left nothing and i did it all with a pocket knife i will post pics asap

why do u hate ur quad so much? At least you have one. some people dont. Just keep on savin and youll get a new one but enjoy the one u have now.

i know i hate the 250ex. everone i go ridin with has good quads like banshees, raptors, z 400's, and u cant forget the 400ex of course and i am stuck with a slow and small 250ex. they suck.

Sorry to hear you don't like your 250ex , I think there good machines. Are they 400's or raptors no I don't think they were ever meant to be. just my 2cents

I ride a 250ex , after I got one (250ex) for my son I liked it and throught I need one too. You may ask why didn't I get a 300 or 400ex or a recon or some 4x4. Here's why, I didn't like the way a 4x4 handles or even a recon but the recon had a good report card on being a good relieable machine. Now for the ex's the 250ex was shaft drive, same relieable engine with 10% more horse as the recon, auto trans, no clutch/chains or sprackes to deal with. And what was I giving up by going with the smaller of the machines speed ,quickness something I felt I could pass on I wasn't 18 anymore and didn't need to have the fastest thing out there anymore. I just wanted something that was relieable and I could go out with my son and have fun. Hey maybe some day my son may want to move up to something bigger but for now he's happy and we both have fun.

UPSTATE I CAN SEE Y U GOT THE 250, BUT I AM NOT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING A QUAD THAT HAS SHAFT DRIVE AND NO CLUTCH. I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING WITH SPEED AND THAT IS GOOD FOR JUMPING. I CAN SEE THAT U DONT MIND THE 250 ESPECIALLY SEEING U RIDE WITH ANDOTHER ONE BUT I NEED SOMETHIN BIGGER AND FASTER. I KNOW IT WASNT MADE TO BE LIKE THE 400 BUT I DIDNT HAVE A CHOICE ON WHAT QUAD I COULD GET IT WAS EITHER A 250EX OR A CR80 AND I LIKE QUADS.

i rode a 250ex for about 10 months and i outgew it so we boguht a raptor. My dad rides the 250 and i ride the raptor. I ride the 250 for wheelies. The 250 is a great quad it will pull 55 on the road with a k&n. Yea the raptor was doin 72 saturday but a 250 is better than a 90 isnt it. so if u diss quads at all cuz its "too small" your gay and stupid

Anyways...here is my lil story.

Back in 93 my grand-pa bought a Honda 300 4x4 and everytime I was over there I rode the thing and wanted a quad ever since then. I was bout 8-9 when he got it...how ever old I was in 1993. Anyways Dad finally decides to buy me a quad last November and I had a choice between the 250ex, Bear Tracker, or Trailblazer. I said, why can't I have a bigger quad like one of those 400exs? (I was quad stupid then compared to my knowledge now) And he is like well, you get one of these or none at all. I was like, the ex b/c I had always heard good things bout Honda and it was the best lookin outta the bunch so thats what I got.
A few months ago the quad just wasnt as fast as it used to be, wasnt as big as it used to be (Im now 5'11" 160lbs), and now I feel really small on it. And after riding 2 400s that made it that much worse.

Dont get me wrong, the 250 is good for what it is but its not a 400 cc quad and will never be and im tired of always playing "keep-up" and "tag-along" with everyone I ride with with the exception of my dad. It really tiresome, especially ridin with Rico, eatin roost all day is not fun.

So yeah, thats my story. Its sad, I know but whatever.
I have rode it maybe twice in the last month and my sister have been riding the shibby outta it non-stop for the past 2 weeks on the road so the front tires and rear brakes are gone on it.

I might get a few more rides on it, and use it for the next Turkey Bay ride but that'll prolly be the end of it. :cool:

i got my 250ex last thanksgiving and i think it's great. i ride in a crowd which consists of myself, a decked-out 260 blaster, a piped and jetted ds650, and a stock scrambler 500 (dad's quad, might try to get a pipe or K@N filter for him this christmas). the only aggressive rider (besides myself- i often have the throttle pinned) is the blaster- the scrambler and ds are the dads of the pack (blaster and i are the kiddies) and even with the 250 i hold my own within the pack (moreso on the trails, i am able to keep up with the ds consistently, and the ds rider is good).i enjoy not dealing with clutching and no chains/sprockets. i find that it fits me perfectly (i'm 5'6-ish and 130 pounds) and it is a BLAST on the trails.the powerband is much more forgiving than that of say, a blaster. my only real complaint about the 250ex is that it's suspension is limited somewhat.i'm currently looking into buying a banshee shock and when i can find the cash to, buy the works shocks.honda needs to get rid of the 300ex and give the 250ex the 300 suspension and the 400's tires. speaking of which, i forgot to mention something else- the stock 250 tires SUCK. great for traction, yes- but TERRIBLE at powersliding. i'll probably end up also buying some form of aftermarket tires like Razrs or Holeshots, maybe even Bandit XC's. other than that, i've been more than happy with my 250. oh yeah, 250 owners should definitely get a aftermarket pipe (like a t-4 complete system) and rejet. it really makes the 250 wake up. the T-4 especially- it makes a world of difference around 2nd/3rd gear, the two gears i spend most of my time in.i love my ex

Cool Reminds me of a Red (250 R)...

A 300 and 250 are a little harder to cut and make look like you'd expect a 400 to look like because of the location of the warning lables, close to the tank seam....

when they say "cut fenders" it doesnt mean to hack off the entire fender, you were soposed to leave some fender, i think you should order new plastic because IMO that looks HORRIBLE

since i gave the 250ex to my dad he likes it.I like it too but its just not my style of riding. And surpringly it doesnt fly to badly. While my 660R is alot more my style i still ride the EX for wheelies and for doin a littlle work

does anybody know how much new front plastic is?? I f@cked mine up pretty bad and after seeing these pics I dont want to cut mine. im probably gonna have a buddie of mine plastic weld it. they have a machine shop and have beening trying to design their own plastic welder and he could use the plastic for practice. I seen him a couple weeks ago trying to repair some old 200sx plastic that was shattered. seems to work pretty good. after it is done all I would have to do is sand it down.

this is dumb question but does anybody make aftermarket plastic yet for the 250ex???
