The third annual Youth Day Triathlon at Humboldt Hills Motorcycle Club in Ross County, Ohio is this Sunday July 16th.
The event is for kids ranging in age from 4-19 years young.
It is for mini atvs up to 90cc 2-stokes and 125cc 4-stroke engines. Atv riders up to 15 years of age.
All motorcycle sizes are eligible and classes are by the riders age(4-19).
All participants will compete in three separate events.
First is a motocross race around a track of jumps, bumps, corners and whoops. This is the most common form of offroad racing where each class is released at the same time to battle it out handlebar to handlebar and wheel to wheel to get the checkered flag first.
Next is a Hare Scramble. This is a race through the woods on tight trails with hills, stumps, ruts, mud holes and more. Riders will ride for 45 minutes and complete as many laps as possible on the 1 1/2 mile course.
The final race of the day is a Rodeo. The is an obstacle course set up in a single rolling field. One at a time, Riders will go through tight turns, weave in and out of 20 cones and over a log bridge to see who can complete the course the fastest.
At the conclusion of all the racing the riders finishing positions will be added together for a final score to decide the winners.
The Youth Day Triathlon has been the signature event at Humboldt Hills since its inception. Although the first 2 runnings saw torrential rains, the event still went off without a hitch. All in attendance agree it is arguably the most fun they have had at any race, anywhere. After all it is for the future of our sport...The Kids!
