Because of reacurring slow leaking problems on 3 out of 4 rear tires, I would like to try running inner tubes in them. A buddy I know of drag races full scale cars and he uses inner tubes, runs them @ 7psi, and has special screws that bottom out on the rim, but provide a spike that pierces the tire at the bead (probably too long for atv application) so the tire doesn't spin and break the valve stem off.

Do they make these for atv's too?

you don't need wheel screws on a quad!

with a drag car you need wheel screws. they are wrinkle wall slicks and they get about 98% traction and lift the front wheels off the ground. the traction with the ground and a 8-15 in slick is greater than the 1/2 in area the bead meets the rim.

with wrinkle wall slicks at take off the rim will turn faster than the tire to help with traction.
this is the only pic i can find fast!

alrighty that's good to know, half of the problem is a quad, and the other half is this thing. I'm not sure if these would spin? 130 stock hp, 25" haulers on a 9" diameter rim

properly not, it dont think you can get that much traction in sand. but who knows, i dont!!!

just make a mark on the tire and one on the rim and see if it moves!

maybe you're right...its the 9" to 25" ratio on wet sand that has me puzzled...
