rear tires help

i have a 06 400ex and the stock tires are done. i need to get new rears asap and im wondering what adavantages and the disadvantages are to putting 18inch tires on instead of the 20s that come stock?. eveyrone seems to say its better, but what is better about it? is there any set backs? and what brands work out the best for dirt?

with 18s u will lose more of ur top end power but u will gain more out of the hole. but u wont lose a lot of ur top end when i put 20 inch razrs on my 300ex from the stock 22's i only lost like 5 mph on topend
