on a 400ex do you get both the intake and exhaust ports, ported and polished??? i heard you should only do it to one or the other but i cant remember which

like chino said.the exhaust port is already big enough,just polish it to get the flow smoother..we port alot for all types of motorsports,dont just go hacking on stuff,get an understanding of what types of portwork to do if your doing it yourself.ive seen home portjobs that flow worse then stk ports,no joke!!

Whats it cost now days to get a head ported/polished...if you dont mind me asking. :cool:

depends on how extensive the work is..our portwork is flow tested.for 4 stroke quads it runs anywhere from $150 to $600,i have had as much as 30hrs in a quad head..

lmao:D ....dont take that wrong,that was just an example of what they can run depending on what you want.a regular descent port and polish job runs about $200 for the quads,but a full race all out flow tested job can run up to $600 depending on the hours involved...not many poeple have a $600 portjob,most of the quad portjobs we have done ran $200 and less....

I just checked with a local machine shop. They gotta flow bench and they said they would do a mild port/polish job on my 400ex head for $150. They said they take about 2 hours to complete, roughly.

thats about average price for most places to do a mild job,we charge $200 for a mild port/polish/flow job.im meticulate(sp?) so i do good a great job and it takes me about 3 hrs or so on a mild job.
