I would look into a 300ex. When i was 13 i got a 1998 300ex for $800 and it was awsome. I only put $150 dollers into it and it looks like this.

250exs are good, but not great. if your 13 your already too big for a 250. They just do not have any potential at all, and the shaft drive really limits things, cant regear at all unless you want to buy bigger or smaller tires. the power is very mellow and the shocks are horrible. a 300ex is better than a 250 in every catagory you look at, besides the 250ex being auto clutch. with a 300, you can actually mod them the way you want, but with a 250 your stuck with what you have stock. i had a 250ex for almost 3 years, and half way threw my second season on it i was ready for a bigger bike..

Since money seems to be a problem I would buy the 250ex. Heck it is your first quad ride the heck out of it then save money and trade it in on a bigger quad in a year or 2. There very reliable to. You should be able to make you money back. If money isn't a problem I would go with a 300ex. I think you would get more use out of it since you have rode already.
