So you are out $60-80 on 3 case savers... Sounds like a deal to me, as compared to buying a new case half each time the chain has jumped off on you.

I run a SCM (Starks Custom) saver. It is super thick, and provides protection for the shift lever, too.

Find one that is 1/4 thick billet aluminum and uses the case and stator cover for extra strength by butting up against it. Those thin ones just dont cut it. I have had good luck with ones made by Speed, think I bought it from Magic Racing. Mabey you got the thin one?

Try one from Baldwin, I've had good luck with them. And why are you destroying these things? Sounds like you have other troubles.

Chains slack issues... chain getting old? I only run one after market chain saver because its anodized red other wise its the stockers... knock knock knock

Try to find one that protects the shifter too.

i make my own out of thicker, billet aluminum. using a aftermarket as a stencil. i increase the ramp length and hieght. this helps get the kinks out better in the event that if/when i do throw a chain.

are you running a rear lower chain guide? they help tremendously in the prevention of throwing chains. i know because i frequent the creeks.

maybe I should have said that over the last 6 years I had gone through 3 savers. The white brothers one didnt even endure anything, it just wore out from the chain going by it. I have the stock swingarm so no rear guide, yet.

i would put one on a 86-87 but not the aluminum 88-89 thats looks and sounds pretty damn scary and your def weakening the already weak aluminum swinger.

its sounds like perhaps if your chain falls off alot you are not adjusting the chain slack correctly, you should have about two finger of slack in between the swinger and chain,

you oculd possibly have worn out axle bearings which are causing it to pop off, or a bad axle nut/antifade nut

well considering how much I ride motocross I dont consider breaking 1 chain and having another pop off after casing a jump over a six year period a big deal. And no I am not drilling any holes in my swingarm, guarantee a crack would form. thanks for the suggestions on manufacturer's.

hey beerock what is that slider oridinaly off of, i need to put one on mine. and HELLBOUND RACING makes a badass case saver, goes around the shifter shaft and is at least 1/4 " thick, just check out there website. i think its only like $30

krazykarl-- the slider is from a banshee. Many aftermarket R swingarms have the mount for it built in.

Here's the link to Stark's case saver. It is the best saver I've seen or used... The attached pic is for 14T countershaft sprocket. I run his 13T saver, and it is thicker still.

I've been using this case saver for about 3 years with no problems. It's from Herrmann racing, the only problem was i had to grind it a little bit to fit up tight against the stator cover. I hope this picture works, i've been having stupid computer issues, damn technology

Might be a dumb question but are you running the head stay the motor mount in between the top frame rails.I have a hall of fame for all the case savers i destroyed before i put it back on.the cyclinder setup i had wouldn't allow me to run it.So once i got rid of that setup I haven't had a problem.I use eddie sanders case savers they come in different colors,sizes13,or 14 t and their nice and thick and you shouldn't have any problems being that everything else is in order no broken motor mounts proper chain tension etc, etc.

ok, its been a couple months and I finally got around to ordering another case and chain/sprocket set. Magic Racing doesnt carry them any more. S and K sounded like he was talking to a ghost and said he hasnt sold an R case saver in over 2 years :D I checked out Nossboys and it looks like the Nacs, so I just ordered from Nacs with Red Anodized for $4 more. And my chain set from Magic Racing $79 for JT sprockets. Anyone use them??

JT sprockets are pretty good,I just changed both front and rear on mine after the masterlink decided to leave the chain. The SCM casesaver did its job,in fact its still on there.Just bent a little. They can be found on Ebay pretty reasonable.
