Just wondering if their filters have a special cage or do they use the stock restrictive cage. If neither what do they have.

No the sparks do not have a cage of any sort, they are made of a slightly stiffer foam.

they do not use a cage at all. their billet ring is really nice though. you can tighten the clamp really tight, unlike with the UNI setup.

I run the sparks in mine and have had no problems since it doesn't use a cage.

I used to use the Sparks filter. I had too many of them come a part. I will not use them any longer. The Uni filter fits into the Sparks billet ring like it was made for it. It can be tighten up better the the Uni alone. I don't know why they tapered the Uni cage. That makes it slip off. The Sparks ring i a perfect fix. I think the sparks ring with the Uni filter is the best set up.

I have a Sparks Filter and adapter on my 06...and there is no cage.....if I have to replace the filter I will just go with a UNI...I've always had good luck with them

i have 2 sparks filters and neither of them fell apart but you can use the uni filter with the sparks cage. now, this if for the 04-05 bike. the 06 uses a different filter and i do not have any experience with that bike.

a uni with an outerwear is the best/cheapest way to go.
