has anyone tried 18" paddles? i have 18"holeshots and they work great in the dirt but i am skeptical about the sand. i don't know wheather to buy 18" skat trac gliders or 20 sand stars... maybe even sand sharks

get the 20's, in sand you need a tall wall side for jumping, i think that 18 will be a little harsh on the landing. try to go with 20 and 8" rims.

Pro racers jump with 18" tires on hard pack dirt, I dont think that jumping in the sand will be any more harsh than that.

yeah it makes sense but do you think the tires will have problems hooknig up in the sand because they are so small? and next question, how much better are sand stars than sand sharks?

the thing is that in the sand you use like 3 or 4 psi on the tire, and in mx, what 9 or 10, so there is the diference. i read this in a dw, they recomended that use 8 in rims so the tire can handle the landings.

about sand stars, one of my friend had them and didnt lik them, i have haulers and they are the best, great hook and you can slide very well, just have to do more body motion.

i've run the sand stars, sharks and devils. i preferr the devils best. reason being the stars and sharks wear rather fast at the point of the V.

so based on how they hook up in the sand and turning ability, would you recomend the devils?

yea en for the cost ya cant beat em. i mean ya can buy more expensive haulers that are better but ya can gat 2 sets o devils for same price. :D
