I have just completed my 440ex 10:1 kit in my 2001 400ex, with a Stage 1 hotcam, rev box, new valve springs, HMF pipe, etc. Has anybody done a similar mod to their bike? If so, what size pilot and main jets did you use and what is you're setting on the needle? I know every bike can be a little different. I just want an idea where to start when I buy my new jets.

My setup: Powroll 440stroker 11.5:1 comp, Stage 3 HotCam, P&P head, E-Series Slip on, chokeless on stock carb, K&N Filter, removed airbox lid.

Jetting: 42 pilot, clip on needle lowered one notch, 175 main (might drop to a 172) and air/fuel screw out 2.5 turns.

1500ft elevation

Depending on elevation, try a 42P, 170-172 main, lower the clip on the needle one notch.

I'm in Florida so I think I go richer for the lower elevation, don't I?

I noticed that after I replied. Stick with the 42 Pilot, and try the 172 main for break in. After she's broke in, jet for power.

What is the stock position? When I bought the bike it allready had a pipe on it, with a jet kit. I don't know if the clip on the needle has been moved yet or not?

Stock position is the middle. Set it on the second notch from the bottom.
