Hi i have a near new 05 450r completely stock and looking at getting a hot cam stage two. Does it need to be rejetted just for this. Future mods to be full exhaust aftermarket filter.

Also have an 05 with slip on pro circuit t4 and rejeted air box with holes drilled. Would a stage two hotcam work in this one?

I mainly ride dunes with a bit of trails.

A cam would work in either one, after all why wouldn't it? You will notice the gain from a cam more if you have a filter/exhaust already. I would do that first before investing in a cam. Also rejetting would be wise as you are now letting more air in and out of the engine which means more fuel needs to come in to compensate.

Yes, Re jet if nessary. Check your spark plug. Make sure it is still nice and brown/tan after you put the cam in.

you might end up going up five or down five. (170+-5) Nothing more really. What ends up happening is you are changing the timing and overlap, changing the amount of flame front the fuel is in contact with.
