Hey! I was thinking of selling my 2001 400EX and was wondering what I should sell it for. It's got white bro's exhaust, dynjet, K&N Filter, New a-arm bushings, new rear bearings, and rebuilt top end. Thanks for any info!

Umm, dont expect alot but my friend sold his 2004 400ex with about the same mods and got 3500, so taking into account the year difference i would imagine that you could pull in the high 2 range, unless you have a buyer that absolutely has to have it. Then you could get low 3's.

Does the Rappy have any upgrades added to it?

Raptors have great power but I would shoot for osmething a little newer if its competly stock

what will you be using the Rappy for?
Just my 2 cents .

I don't think you will be happy going to a raptor. just my opinion.

Thanks for everyones opinions. As far as I know the raptor only has new rear bearings, front a-arm bushings, Next to new rear razr tires, and new grab bars. No engine mods I dont think! I'd like to hear more about the raptor compared to the 400ex if anyone can fill me in. I know its got more power but its probably way heavier. Does the 02 have reverse? I do a lot of mountain riding but I do plan to ride the dunes soon! Thanks!

Just a heads up...two of my friends just sold their raptors to buy 400ex's. They were mad they wasted time on the raptor.

Now to answer the original question; I bought my 01 400ex with all service records, low hours, new brakes and tire, title, and in 100% perfect shape for $1900.

Prices in the states are alot lower than here in ont. But you will have to reseach the value in your area. I sold this 01 400ex last year for $5500 cnd with lots of extras.

Every one on here is quick to say that the rappy sucks. I don't agree. Now what kind of riding do you do. All the time or most of the time. I think if you ride wide trails like the ones around here than a rappy is one of the top contenders. A arms and an axle and away you go you have lots of power good handling and reliable. My opinion is that a piped 400ex is lots for the trails and is one of the best handling quads out there, and the after market parts are there to make it better. If you are going racing than you might just as well ponny up and get a 450 (any of the three) now, because you will want one soon. People like to say this suck that blows but really what are you doing with it is what maters.
I use to ride trails every weekend with my 400ex and it was great.
Istarted racing in a club that has fast hard pack with small jumps similar to TT. The 400 was not so good for that.
I now have my 450r that is a pretty built mx quad it is great on the track but I will say if I go back to the trails I will get a400ex again cause my 450 sucks in the woods.

So I guess all this bable is to just let you know to realy look at what you want your quad for, then decide what quad you want.
Because they do have an intended use.
just my op

I wasnt one of those people. I agree with ya on this one!

I like to stay unbias and Im not nessesarily Brand Loyal these days(but do sure love a Honda!:D )

I think one of the funnest days of riding I have had was on my friends Rappy . :)

One persons preference or even the majority doesnt make the quad bad,it just means its not for that particular riders wants/needs ;)

I personally would not trade for an 02 Raptor though, and especially an 01 .I would concentrate on something a little newer and I agree with you totally ,if you are racing such as MX, I would strongly consider a 450.

Thanks everyone! I ended up just sticken with my 400ex! I test rode that raptor and I bet mine could keep up with it pretty good, but it was a lot more torquier. But like everyone said, it's high and is a bit more tippy. I like my 400 better!
