View Full Version : Both light beams wired to one switch

What will it hurt to have both the high and low beams wired on to one side of a switch? I did it yesterday when I rewired my controls, but I only had a 2 way switch so I wired all of the lights to one side.

The only thing I could think of is that there is twice the draw on the stator. Will this cause the lights to be dim, or the engine to idle rough or something? I noticed it did idle rough when I tested the kill switch, but I figured it was because it was cold.

I can't answer your question about the lights but just out of curiousity do you start your R up and shut it down before it's warmed up? I've always been told that's not good for an engine however I have no facts to back it up with though.:ermm: I've always tried to fully warm an engine up when I start it even if just testing something small like a kill switch.

I let it warm for a little bit so as not to shut it off completely cold. I will let it sit for 5 minutes at idle usually...

dont do it unless your running a 200w stator .

headlight 55w + 60w + 115w ..!!! you'll burn it out
