Would putting a cr250 into a 400ex be worth it, also how hard would this be to do. or would it better to just to build a 440 or 426 as far as ease and cost goes and performance

check out servicehonda.com they will do it for you but it is pretty pricey. but it might give you some ideas

The problem with a CR250 engine is they are not counterbalanced so it's gonna vibrate like crazy in a quad chassis. Now, I haven't ever ridden one, so the vibration problem is hearsay but they aren't counterbalanced so it makes sense. I've read about CR500 hybrids (again, no counterbalancer) vibrating frames apart.

If you wanted a two stroke hybrid than using a 250r engine might be better. Stock for stock the CR engine is more powerful but you can make a 250r engine as fast as you want.
