well i posted a thread in the steering/ suspension sectoin with no replys so i'll try it here. i am wanting to get your guys opinions on what to run for tire pressures for mx. i am running kenda klaws all the way around. i am currently running 5 psi in front and about 4 in back. i heard some people are running like12 in front and 8 in back. just hoping to get some recommendations? thanx

as you continue tp jump higher, your tire pressure will need to go up. i bent rims at 8lb. i would recommend 10lb rear 12 lb front. i run 13lb in my bajas just to be safe.

With my holeshots on bajas I run 6 all around. There have been a few times that I got a chunk of sod into the bead and the tire lost all pressure but I didn't even know until I was done riding.

In the winter I sometimes run 1-2 lbs depending on the snow conditions but I don't jump in the winter anyway.

What are you doing with it? MX or XC. For XC I run 6 front 5 rear, but I know the mx guys run ALOT higher pressures.

Same here; 4-5 lbs. I don't race and I don't jump all that much. I've never had an issue with rolling or blowing a bead, flats, or anything like that....if I did maybe a higher pressure would be appropriate [shrug].

I imagine tire brand/size/etc. makes a difference along with rider weight, suspension type & settup, etc.

I could see where the rigors of an MX track might demand higher pressues...12 seems like an awful lot though--but I'm not really [shrug].

I was thinking that too, 12 is alot of pressure for these kind of tires

almost all serious mx racers i kno run over 10lb in there tires so the rims dont break or bend. i bent both my rear itp pro series first race of the year running 10lb. i know some guys that run around 12lb with hipers.

10#'s all around seem to work best for me for heavy trail riding.

I have never tried running below 7#'s all around, I will have to give it a try this weekened.

I thought on the side of my Kenda klaws it says 5lbs max. running pressure  I run low pressure any way with razrs that i had like 3.5 - 4.5 I haven't had a prob. they 20's though I'm curious about this I'm not going to bend my new T-9's am I? Any one who bent their rims are you sure it was from hitting the ground?

unless your a serious mx racer, you probably wont bend them.4-5 is ok for trails but if you make a trip to the mx track, be sure to bump up your tire pressure. yes it was either from pounding through the whoops or landing, not sure which. im guessing landing because the tires usually debeaded in the corners after jumps.
