What are the advantages/ disadvantages to extended a-arms?

One advantage is that it makes the quad more stable, (wider means less likely to wanna tip on ya when cornering hard). A disadvantage is that if you do trail riding, you are obviously wider, and may have more of a problem getting through the "tight" spots.

Pros-With extended a-arms you have the potential for much more wheel traval. Most of the are made of chromeally (sp?) which is lighter and stronger then steel. They can inprove handleing by correcting stearing geometry.

Cons-My R bearly fits in the bed of my truck. It makes it more diffucult to haul, cost, make it a little tricky when ridding in the tight woods..

They are definatly worth it, despite the trade offs.

You can buy jd performance arms that cost under 500. They are an old style Laeger's copies. I bought my Laeger's for 420 off ebay.

i bought a set of laegers for my 300 and it made a world of difference. I measured from the frame to the ground, which was approx 10 in, and i could get the frame, with the shocks soft, to hit the ground, so it definately gave me more travel

i paid $700 for my laeger's. The reason they are so high, obviously, is because the chromoly metal used to make them is very high, and for money spent for the company's R&D costs. And even the stock replacements aren't too much cheaper than that.
