alright guys i need some help haha

when i ride my 250r it runs good and everything in like 1st and 2nd gear but 3rd-5th when u start getting in the higher rpm's it has a lil miss to it its not a huge miss ....u can juss feel it a lil and hear it a lil

i thought it could be jetting...but it only does this "missing" sometimes.....like it may do it for 3-5 minutes then about 5 minutes later when your riding it won't do it anymore...i dunno what is up i havent checked the plug or anything yet but i dunno....if u guys have any tips or advice as to something i can try...let me know

thanks, hunter

i don't get what you mean by missing? like is it feel as if it has no power and like you have the clutched pulled in? or is it like the clutch is slipping?

juss like its almost as if its backfiring like when ur going through the rpms a miss like that......its hard to explain...sorry! its not a backfire but its like for a split second it has no fuel and misfires or sumthing....but i know its getting fuel ..kinda like it cuts out for a split secend

Check for air leaks in the intake boots, and exaust.

yeah that definitely sounds like an airleak somewhere. go through your entire airflow system (air filter, boots, carburetor attachments, reeds, and pipe) and make sure there's no leaks/holes anywhere.

you should most deffinetly check your plug. the gap sounds a little off so check that. My cr250 would break up at high RPMs when I would start revving higher. My gap was off. might be your problem

go 1 stage higher on the main jet, if it gets worse, then go 1 stage lower.

sounds like its a bit lean though

could be leaking coolant into the cylinder and it's shorting out the plug............... just throwin that out there, i didn't read this whole thread, so don't bash me.

If you running the old stock ignition system sometimes that will cause a skip up in the rpms.
Try as a test, set the plug gap 15 to 18 thousands & see if that clears it up. If it runs good after that then you will know its the ignition system.
