I have decided on either a 440 kit or 426. I ride dunes, open trails, open fields, and the occasional tight trails. I like to have low end torque but I like to ride wide open to, what would be the best kit for me and who would u suggest going with.

here is my theory: start with the smaller of the two. that way if something happens, and say you scratch the cylinder walls for some reason you can always go to the bigger bore. thats what i plan on doing, start with a 416 and go from there. but thats just me.

I think I'm gonna go with the sparks 440 it seems like ti would be insane fast and still reliable. anyone run this if so tell me how u like it and how she runs compared to other kits.

i am sorry but i dont think the 440 is that fast. get a 416 kit with a mild cam like the xr 400. you will spend like 350 w/ boring. if you get a 440, to really make it fast you should go with a high lift cam, porting, hardened rockers, HD springs, that should cost you about 1500 dollars. my friend just did the 440 kit an i still beat him with a 416.. just my results!!!!!!

i am in no way mocking the 440, just looking realistically at the price to power ratio.....if you are racing your quad go for the 440 and mod it out.....if you plan on riding for fun, start out with the 416 and if you ever have problems you can always bore it to a 426 etc.......it is like a saftey net!

Here`s what I would do. Your gonna be spending a lot of Money so make sure you talk to many Engine Builders. Call Sparks, TC, Duncan, LRD, CT, FDO, and others that you like. I can tell you right now Sparks and TC are many Months behind. Duncan and LRD I`m not sure but I know they are not as bad.
