The gear box seals and bearings need to be replaced on my 1990 300 fourtrax 2wd. According to the Clymers manual there are a lot of special tools required to do this. They recommend having the dealer do this job. Has any one ever done this overhaul without using any special "Honda" tools?
Thanks,
Bob

cant be that difrent than a 400ex which I did.

Only special tools needed are a flywheel puller that I can think of off the top of my head

But you may want to just poke around on ebay and see what you can come acrost. Mabie you can find a complete trans for cheep

When you say a flywheel puller, are you refering to a Honda atv type flywheel puller? Thanks,
