Ive been looking for a while for any used 50 cc for my soon to be 5 year old son

Today I came across a 2001 50cc eton, asking price is $800.00, he was told by the dealer he should ask $1100.00. I told him I was only willing to spend 5-600 and he said he would take $700.00 min. It looks like its in excelent cond, they say backyard use only.

Is this thing worth it, I thought eton was a good name, but some one here at my job says they are one of the worse. We already own 1 eton and have had some issues with it, but overall I thought its been ok.

Opinions? Thanks

You can find them cheaper than that. That's steep for a 01 50cc. Ebay has plenty, also check around here in the classifieds. Check into the DRR 50 if you have any interest in racing in the future.

There is a 50cc Kasea on Ebay for a Buy it now price of 475. It states it will not run because of no spark. I would bet it needs a stator. There are alot of aftermarket parts for this quad.

I saw that 1, and the only other 2 were a 70 and a 90, I do want one that is already running, this eton is looking better to me.

We had e the Eton 50,then put a 70 airsal kit in it ... Its GREAT mini! there is plenty out there for performance parts for them .Ours now has a 90 motor in it,we keep the 70 for a back up.

We bought it, got it for $675.00, nice machine, too big for him thought, he's gonna have to grow into it a bit, his hands cant squeeze the brakes yet.

Im surprise how fast it is, quicker and more stable then my daughters 90 Baja, I would buy her the same eton 50 if another one comes along.

Just dont care for the 2 cycle smell and smoke.

I adjusted and lubed the chain today, will check the air filter tomorrow. What else needs to be done to a 2 stroke?

I guess the air filter gets oiled, like most other quads?

How do u adjust the idle? It races a bit, I couldnt find the adjustement on a trottle cable,I did find a screw into the carb that I turned and the idle came down, but I dont know if it was a mixture screw?

Thanks

The air mixture srcew is the one that is ressessed into the Carb. and the fuel screw is the external one above the idle screw(in most instances)

congrats on the mini...Etons are a fun mini:)

So which one sets the idle speed?

I didnt notice a recesed one, I will look for it, that would be the air/fuel mixture screw.

The only 1 I remember seeing, was 1 sticking out torwards the fight front corned of the quad, I was able to turn it by hand, it affected the idle, but I couldnt get it just right, it would go either too low or too high.

Thanks
