I dont know why they havent changed the way it looks, I thought they were going to make it look like the 450r like all there other quads do.

I just bought a new 05 300EX cause I wanted red/black.

Here's a site that has the 300EX plastics with the 450R look.

Many colors to choose from.

i hope they dont put the 450r style plastics on it. it is the only honda left with its own style of plastics.

I highly doubt they will be bringing the 300ex back. Unless Suzuki, or Yamaha breaks out a high performance 250, I wouldn't expect to see anything in its place for quite a while. They have the 250ex (beginner) and 400ex (intermediate). There's not enough of a gap there to warrant the capital investment in new machinery.

I noticed that there that 300ex was always missing in advertising in any of the ATV mags. I asked the owner of our local Honda dealer who is a very close family friend and he says that honda didnt stop making them. They just arent fitted with the sport clutch yet like the smaller ATVs that honda is puttin out. The models with sportcluth is what they are really pushing onto the market.

all I know is that I really like the way the 300ex looks. It has its own look instead of all of the other honda sport quads. From a distance you cant tell what quad it is either a 250ex,400ex,or450r cause they all look the same. The 300ex has its own look. I just bought plastic and I thought about the 450r look alike but it wouldnt be right having them on my quad.

Sure

You can find the 07 models on Honda's website I believe.

Just because its not in the line up doesnt mean they arent making it. They could be making changes. They always wait until later to show models they change.

I think it will be a while before they are hard to get parts for. There are just too many 300's still on the tracks/trails.

I wish honda would've dumped the 250ex instead and just added the sport clutch to the 300ex. Ah well...I guess mine will be a "classic" soon.:ermm:

I can imagine it like five years from now. Kids with 250ex(s) will be like.
"What do you ride?"
"A 250x"
"Don't you mean a 250ex"
"No"
"Pfft your such a newbie!"

07-14-2006, 12:08 AM
That'd be the time I'd give them an old fashion beat down. Stomp a mudhole and walk it dry. :chinese:

I beleive there's a law dictating that Honda will have to supply OEM parts for the 300ex for 10 years (or something like that) after the model is discontinued.

racefan2

i dont think the 300 should be discontinued because going from a 250 to a 400 is a pretty big power diference, they should at least make a 350 or something like that.the 300 has always been ignored, never getting a facelift and now it is finially being discontinued.:(
