which brake fluid is the best to use, do i need to use dot 4 or can i use 3

Use the fluid that your brake system is designed for. Look on top of your mastercylinder. Most new atv's require dot4

Just make sure you don't use DOT 5 if the system requires DOT 4 or 3, because it's silicone based, and isn't compatible with regular brake fluid.
