yeah , i just bougth a 2006 400ex last month, and its been cool. it still is pretty cool...but im thinking i probly should have just got a 450r. i dont race or anything i just ride trails and do some doubles and table tops and ****, but still. im not sure if i should be satified with the 400ex or should i sell it while its still failrly new and get a 450r?

Ya I feel the same way man, I just baught my 400ex a couple years ago and thought i'd be happy with it, which i am its an awesome machine havent had a problem with it and i can keep up with the 450's and stuff but im kind of wishing I had more power like the 450r, im thinking about selling my 400 to get a 450 but I have to save my money for a truck so i guess i'l have to waite a bit before i get the r. If I were you I think i'd sell the 400 if you feel you want something better like the 450r, because its new so you should be able to get your money back then you could go with the 450r.

Just get the 450. I had a 400ex then 416ex then 426ex still not enough power. Honestly the 450"s are light years ahead of the ex.

If you don't race why do you feel that you need a 450r?

The 450r will be alittle harder to trail ride with and you will have to do alittle more maintnance.

But its up to you. However expect to loose at least 1000-1500$ on the 400ex. You could probably get around 4 out of it possibly.

im in the same boat but the funds just dont work out. plus if i got a stock 450r i wouldnt be able to leave it like that because my ex has more balls than a stock r but the brakes rock and the suspention is unreal upgrade

I don't participate in organized racing, but I do ride in the dunes a lot. In the sand the EX just doesn't cut it anymore.

There is no sand within hundreds of miles from me so I have no experience there. 400ex does great in the mud and on the trails tho.

I dont see the need for a 450,i have a 05 400ex and for trailriding and jumps and stuff it has more than enough power for me. I know how you feel, and i would not mind having a 450r but fo the amount of money you will lose on the bike i dont think it is worth.Whatever you do, GOOOOOO HOOONNNDDDAAAA lol:devil:
