Yfz Vs 450r

OK i know this has been absolutly beat to death, but im in this situation where once my 400 sells (hopefully soon) i can buy either a YFZ or a 450R for the same price brand new. They both are 06's. I do alot of sand/gravel pit riding....lots of jumping and alot of highspeed riding. Which would suit me the best? thanks

all depends man, I find the YFZ as a very uncomfortbable atv as I am a bigger guy, 6'4 220, so I am very uncomfortable on the YFZ but the 450R is alot more comfortable..

Its all up to you. To me the 450r feels like I'm sitting on a mountain, and the yfz is right at home.

Im shorter 5'9" so they both feel pretty good. Which one has the best suspension for jumping? because i do alot of heavy jumping and some mx tracks.

YFZ!! stock vs stock wise, the yfz suspension is far superior. im in the same situation as yourself, but i like both of them(im not biased). only thing i dont like is the handlebars on the yfz, but thats an easy fix.

I know on the YFZ u can get alot of power with not much money at all by doing the Cam mod.

But if you are going to dump alot of money into, one thing is do u want e-start or kick. I know the 450ER has some problems, so i would stay away from that.

In the end "I" would buy a 450R kicker, just because im a honda guy and i like the kicker.

they are both pretty equal in 06, and far better then 04 and 05's. sit on both and maybe test ride, and that will probably make your decision quickly right there

i think the 450r is more comfortable, but the YFZ is definately faster and the suspension is much better... and ive had TRX owners (06s) agree with that... i would definately go YFZ in your scenario

YFZ man, i love mine and i was a honda guy. Like Rico said. as soon as you want more power, take the lid off, cam mod, and your good, everything for free lol.

The 450r feels to me, like setting on a dirt bike.

i am die hard honda, always riden them and loved them. and being a true honda guy yamaha is a bad word around my house but i have to say that if i bought a brand new quad, it would most likely be a YFZ. i have heard of less problems out of them and can vouch that they are faster than the honda's stock for stock almost everywhere. i say get a yfz
