notchy ,tightt shifter

I just got my 440 back together & all seems well except my up shifts Ive got a newer clutch in there & cable that feels plenty adjusted & works well no slippage good engagement etc. but its notchy as hell on upshifts & feels like Im gonna dislocate my toes in doing it it does shift up better if i give it a little throttle when trying to upshift , but my cable seems tight as it is & clutch operation is normal except those hard shifts upwards

I just put a new barnett clutch in my 440 and it was stiff as hell for the first 2 hours of riding. It took a little bit to break in.

I have a newer Barnett clutch in there its not new or old but definitely broken in along with my newer cable & it feels pretty snug already & everything is normal as far as operation but the upshifts are tight no slippage good everything but tight upshifts

I think it's normal...I just replaced my fibers and springs and I had the same thing happening. But as mine has been breaking in, it has been getting easier and smoother the more I ride it.

quick ? did you forget the washer behind the basket if so there might be a little drag to the shifting

everything is there & working well the shifter is getting easier to use still not great but getting better this is after a little more adjustment & a few hours more ridin

The problem is in your transmission not your clutch.

im curious what part of the trans main shaft ,shifting forks,countershaft fill us in if you know we are willing to learn old doggs learn new tricks everyday

Its hard to tell till your in there. When my 400's tranny was hard to shift it the gears couldnt slide on the shafts very well and there was wear on the edges of the gears.

Ill keep on goin till its miserable to shift i guess ,I didnt really wanna hear theres something wrong with my tranny or gears in the tranny Ive done absolutely everything to this bike but trannys on an atv is probably over my head
