id go with the 440 kit bc the 463 stroker would be illegal in all of the classes i race. BTW i was just wondering, honda didnt have a limited edition 450r... did they?

I put a 440 kit in mine over a month ago and since that I have replaced my clutch and now im waiting on my new carrier. So expect to upgrade some other parts along with it.

I'd go with either a 426 or 440. The 440 is known to overheat more often, due to the fact that the 400ex is air cooled.

What mx tracks do you race at in Indiana?

Go for the 426, its enough to notice the change ect.....

If you get the 440 kit your EX is going to over heat and you are going to have to replace a **** load of stuff. Go with the 416 or 426 kit.

I would go with the 426. I've heard some people like it better than the 440's because they don't have the over heating problem, and the smaller bore lets it rev faster.

im going with a 416 11:1 soon....thats about as far as i want to take a 400ex motor...because beyond that is not quite worth it to spend all that money to get the extra power, seeing how the 400ex is air cooled and you will run into several problems. if you need more then a 416 or 426, i would prob just get a 450

porting, cam, and carb would make quite a improvemtent also. probably more than a 416 ever will.

I had a friend that had his bored to a 416 and stroked to a 440. Pretty powerful, for a 400ex.

the only problems you will get from a 440 is if it was installed by some one that doesnt know what he is doing if they are a good mechanic they will do good and get good componets dont cheap out that will help also
