Photoshop Help

I need some tips, tricks with photoshop. How do you get a pic to look like this.

How do you get the name and number behind the rider!?!?! I am using Roxio Photosuite and Microsoft Digital Image Suite.

you have to make two layers and send the name one to the back. that will put it like that.

You have to use the pen tool, trace a path around the part of the pic you want to cut out. Then select it, copy and paste it onto a new layer. Then move that layer in front of the text layer.
It's all about the pen tool my friend.. (and about 10,000 other things you need to learn to be good at Photoshop).

I can't get it!!! If some one could really help me with it. I'm using/have Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 Editor, Roxio PhotoSuite, and Photo Studfio 5.5 that comes with the Canon Digital Rebel XT.
