ok i have been having a problem with my 87 250r. it starts great, and runs great untill about half throttle then it starts to bog. and then if you pin it right away in any gear, it just bogs down again, however if you just cruise along in the gears without getting on the throttle all the way it runs real good and burns nice and brown but again, when you hammer the throttle it bogs right down, it doesnt stall, it just loses all its power. This is a 310 and i thought it was the jetting (running to rich) so i leaned it out and it still does the same thing so it has nothing to do with carberation which leads me to think its electrical. could this possibly be one of the 3 stator coils?? and its not giving it a strong enough spark when im wide open which doesnt burn the raw gas?? please help im stumped

Try to find someone close by with a good running R and start switching out one electrical part at a time to find your bad part.

I would gap the plug .018 and move the clip up or down and the same for the jets it might take 1 to 10 times be four you hit the right one

So what was the problem? My 250R is running somewhat similar to what you described . I just rebuilt the top end and replaced everything in the electrical system. I added a dyna fs ignition box , instead of a stock one. It starts great and runs really strong , but cuts out at mid to high range. I was actually told that I may need to richen my carb or just clean it. Just let us all know what was wrong with yours and I'll try that with mine.
