there are two allen bolts on the back of the swing arm. Loosen them. Then take a pair of channel locks and grab the bearing carrier slots on the left of the swing arm and rotate it clockwise to take slack out of the chain. Once the chain is properly adjusted, tighten the allen bolts up and go riding.

Sjorge300ex is right. I wouldn't use channel locks to grab the carrier though, if you can help it. The stock 300ex tool kit has the correct allen wrench to loosen the allen bolts, then stick it in the carrier slots, and rotate it with that. It might save from chewing it up.

Dunno where I got it, but I have an actual wrench for turning the concentric on the carrier.

I've been into the 250/300's since 87......who knows....LOL

You're mistaken on saying it comes in the tool kit. The concentric wrench won't even fit.

What I use out on the trail to adjust the chain....is the allen wrench thats in the toolkit and a spoke wrench from a motorcycle ;)
